Meet Taryn, The Heart Behind Honey Paws
Honey Paws Boarding is owned and lovingly run by Taryn Adamy, whose life has always revolved around animals.
Taryn studied Animal Biology at the University of Florida and earned Bachelor’s degrees in Sociology and Biology from the University at Buffalo. But her real education began in 2010, when she started rescuing dogs and never stopped.
Over the years, Taryn has helped hundreds of dogs, including those who needed extra patience, structure, or understanding. More recently, she has focused on rescuing pregnant dogs, giving them a safe place to raise their puppies.
Working with so many different dogs helped Taryn develop a natural ability to read behavior, understand play styles, and know which dogs thrive together in pet daycare and group settings. It’s why Honey Paws works so well for dogs who don’t always fit the “one-size-fits-all” mold.
Taryn spends every day with animals, whether she’s caring for horses on the farm or tending to guests at Honey Paws. Understanding dogs and helping them feel at ease comes second nature.

The Story Behind the Name Honey Paws
Honey Paws is named after Honey Bear (February 14, 2008 – June 21, 2023), Taryn’s rescue dog and constant companion.
Honey Bear came into Taryn’s life unwanted and overlooked but she quickly became unforgettable. Known by many names (The Bear, Honey B, The Queen, Ruffles, Goblin Girl), she was clever, independent, and very selective about her dog friends.
She didn’t love other dogs but she taught Taryn how to understand them.
Honey Bear became the face of Honey Paws and the reason it exists today: a place where every dog is accepted, including the ones who need a little extra care.
